Why track profit per order instead of just revenue
Shopify's dashboard shows revenue prominently, but revenue without cost attached hides whether a store is actually profitable. A day with $800 in sales can still lose money if ad spend and product cost outpaced it. Logging cost alongside each sale — even roughly — turns "sales are up" into a number you can actually act on.
Step-by-step usage guide
- After each sale, enter the product name, what the customer paid, and your total cost for that order (product + shipping + a fair share of ad spend).
- Click Add order — it appears in the table below and updates your running totals instantly.
- Revisit this page any time; your data persists in this browser until you clear it.

Will I lose my data if I close the tab?
No — data is saved in your browser's localStorage and will still be there next time you open this page in the same browser on the same device.
Can I access this from my phone and laptop at the same time?
No. Because there's no server or account behind this tool, data saved on one device or browser won't appear on another. Each browser keeps its own separate log.
Is this a replacement for accounting software?
No — treat it as a quick running total for day-to-day decisions, not a substitute for bookkeeping or tax records.
